I am receiving an error - what does it mean?

Error 1: “Invalid Signon Mode for Brainshark Username/Password - Invalid username” or “Invalid Signon Mode for Brainshark Username/Password - Invalid password”

To resolve: The error message indicates that the username or password provided under the Security Settings section of the "Brainshark Setup" tab in Salesforce is incorrect. To resolve the issue you will have to provide a valid Brainshark Company Administrator’s login credentials and re-save the "Brainshark Setup" tab in Salesforce.

 

Error 2: “Invalid Data Update Mode for Brainshark Username/Password - Invalid username” or “Invalid Data Update Mode for Brainshark Username/Password - Invalid password”

To resolve: The error message indicates that the username or password provided under the "Data Synch Settings" section of the "Brainshark Setup" tab is incorrect. To resolve the issue you will have to provide a valid Brainshark Company Administrator’s login credentials and re-save the tab.

 

Error 3:“Data Update Mode Salesforce for Username/Password is invalid”

To resolve: This means the username or password provided under the "Data Synch Settings" section of the Brainshark Setup tab is incorrect. To resolve the issue you will have to provide a valid Salesforce System Administrator’s login credentials and re-save the tab.

 

Error 4: "LOGIN_MUST_USE_SECURITY_TOKEN: Invalid username, password, security token; or user locked out. Are you at a new location? When accessing Salesforce--either via a desktop client or the API--from outside of your company’s trusted networks, you must add a security token to your password to log in. To receive a new security token, log in to salesforce.com at http://login.salesforce.com and click Setup | My Personal Information | Reset Security Token.”

To resolve: This error indicates that you did not append your Salesforce Security Token to the end of the Salesforce password under the "Data Synch Settings" section of the "Brainshark Setup" tab. To resolve the issue you will have to append your Salesforce Security Token to the end of your Salesforce System Administrator’s password under the Data Synch Settings section of the Brainshark Setup tab and re-save the tab. If you do not know your Salesforce Security token, here are the steps to reset your token:

  • In Salesforce, click Setup at the top of the screen.
  • Under My Personal Information, click Reset My Security Token
  • Once you click Reset My Security Tokenyou will receive an email from Salesforce with a new security token.

*NOTE: Please be aware that resetting your Salesforce Security Token can have an effect on other applications within Salesforce. If you reset your Salesforce Security Token for Brainshark, please make sure to update the Security Token in every other application that requires it.
