Offline viewing for presentations and courses
This feature is currently available for designated ‘early adopter’ customers only. Stay tuned for a general availability announcement.
Offline viewing allows viewers / students to download a course or presentation and access it while disconnected from the Internet. After re-connecting to the Internet and opening the mobile app their viewing activity, course progress, and question responses are synced to Brainshark.
Enabling offline viewing for the site
Company administrators may enable offline viewing from Administration > Manage Company > Presentation Settings
If this setting is not shown, contact Brainshark Support to have it turned on for your site.
Enabling offline viewing for a course or presentation
By default, when Offline Viewing is enabled for the site all presentations and Brainshark type courses are also enabled. The setting is located on
- Presentations: Edit Presentation > Presentation Properties
- Brainshark type courses: Course Details > Edit Presentation > Course Properties

The presentation / course author would like to have the presentation / course available for offline viewing, but it contains an unsupported feature:
The presentation / course author does not want the presentation / course available for offline viewing:
If the 'Enable offline viewing' setting is not visible on edit presentation:
- The featured is not enabled for your organization
- It's an unsupported course type
What content is not available offline?
Generally, any presentation or course that does not contain the following:
- HTML5 or web content
- Conditional redirects
- Limits on the number of course attempts
- Course type other than Brainshark
The only course type that is supported is Brainshark. Offline is not available for other course types such as SCORM, URL Link, Coaching, Course Session, or Activity.
Additionally, some presentations or courses that are available offline may contain individual slides that will not play offline because they require real-time Internet access. In these cases, the viewer may see a blank slide in the player.
