In an on-demand medium you do not have facial expressions and gestures to communicate emotion to the listener. But what you do have is just as important - your voice. And more specifically your intonation.
Be aware that your intonation can make or break your presentation. Communicate disinterest via a monotone recording and your viewers will share it. They will lose focus, not listen and your efforts at communicating will have failed.
Why do we squeak and coo at babies (and pets)? BECAUSE TONE COMMUNICATES EMOTION A 3-month old cannot decipher the words we are using to draw meaning, but they can tell from our tone that we are happy to see them and they respond accordingly.
Enthusiasm is contagious. If you are excited and interested in the subject matter then the listener or viewer will think twice about ignoring the content. People are drawn to energy and enthusiasm is energy expressed verbally.
So bring some energy and enthusiasm to your audio recording. Take a look at the viewing details and you will find that more people watch for longer periods when you deliver the audio portion of the content with enthusiasm. So that means more people are getting more of the message and so your presentation - your communication - your training is likely to be a success.
