A related question: Everyone in our Brainshark Learning instance is manually added, using SSO credentials for access. Is it possible to add other people who are NOT part of our SSO system? i.e., can some people have password access while others have SSO access? How would we do that?

    Hi Joe,

Creating the users is easy.  You can go to Administration >Manage Users >Add User.  Here is a tutorial about Manage Users https://www.brainshark.com/training/vu?pi=zCPzCml6Oz0z0

For the SSO profile you will want to make sure that the default is set up the way that you want all users to be created from the start.

For the Channel default user - I assume that you are going to use this to create a self-registration link that you can send to a channel partner and they can have their team use to create user ids for themselves.  This means that you first create the user profile and then create the self-reg url that you will send to the partner.  You will find this in Administration >Manage Company > Advanced Options > Self Registration.  I would also advise you to create a group that this user profile is a member of - so that as the users are created they will also be a member of that group.  This will make it easy for you to track and report on that group going forward.  If there is more than one channel partner then you will want to create a new user profile and group for each channel so that you can easily track their progress separately.

Marjorie Webb  I do this often, that is what I am talking about.  I want one profile to be applied when employees come in via SSO and another applied when I manually create the User or when they self register.

Right now, for non-employees, I use the Add User + Sign and create the account and profile manually,  The system sends them an invite message with URL and instructions to change their password on first login.

Short of having a profile I can apply,.  I would like a Clone option so I can build new logons with the same group and folder permissions as other Partner users. .

Joe Fenn  I understand the clone option you are speaking about and you can use the self-registration option for this.  The self-registration link, whether you send it to the partners for them to use or use it yourself, will come with the same permissions you assigned to the user profile that you used to create the self-registration url.

You may be aware already, but it is critical in this scenario that the Sharkive be configured correctly.  It must be set up to support SSO AND manual login via URL.  To ensure this is true, send an email to support@brainshark.com requesting that the Sharkive be configured in this manner and they will make it true.
